Yoga Exploration

Tuesdays: 10:30-11:45am

In this all levels class you will be guided into your body and the present moment by navigating the 8 limbs of yoga. You will journey through a variety of yoga poses (asana) and breathing styles (pranayama), along with weaving in some ethical practices for social relations and self care (yamas and niyamas), concentration (dharana) and meditation (dhyana). Props and imagery will also be used to increase the clarity of your body map. Each class will have it's own stand alone theme, though each class will build on the previous one.

Core and Breathing

Tuesdays: 4:30-5:30pm

This is an all levels class for anyone looking to improve the efficiency of their breathing and functional movements. The respiratory diaphragm is the primary muscle of breathing and is a pivotal muscle for core function. Some days class will be more restorative and others it will be more energizing, either way the goal will always be to increase self-regulation of stress and movement. Anyone with back, hip or pelvic pain could benefit greatly from this class. Inspiration from this class comes primarily from PRI (Postural Restoration Institute) and yoga.

Foundations of Movement

Wednesdays: 12-1pm

A class for all levels for those looking to start a movement practice or build on an already existing practice. Each week will have a theme ranging from speed & agility to strength and vision to breathing. Come ready to engage, move and have fun!

Mobility, Movement & Meditation

Thursdays: 7:15-8:30am

Start your day with guided release work and mobility followed by a variety of movements to get your joints, muscles and fascia hydrated and finish the class with a guided meditation - leave feeling energized and at ease. We will follow the fascial lines described by Tom Myers in Anatomy Trains with starting with self-myofascial release techniques; followed by movements from yoga, Pilates, and fitness; and finishing with breathing and imagery exercises. All levels welcome.
